About the position

The Assistant Account Compliance Manager is responsible for managing leasing compliance for a property or group of properties on behalf of a client. This role involves ensuring adherence to the terms of the management agreement and compliance with relevant laws, particularly the Stark Law. The position requires collaboration with the Cushman & Wakefield account team and involves various compliance-related tasks, including document preparation, audits, and training.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Stark Law exceptions and compliance issues that must be reported to the Office of Inspector General.
  • Understand the client's leasing process and communicate updates to the account team.
  • Review and approve drafts of preliminary lease term forms submitted by property managers.
  • Prepare draft documents using the client's standard lease forms as requested.
  • Maintain lease files and supporting documentation for lease terms and conditions.
  • Oversee the gathering and submission of quarterly lease audit information required by the client.
  • Assist with the annual lease certification process to ensure compliance with Stark Law guidelines.
  • Prepare and review annual standard business lease terms for applicable properties as directed.
  • Travel to satellite offices to assist management staff with document preparation and leasing process understanding.
  • Gather information on reportable events that may violate Stark Law and submit it for review.
  • Review and update the status of expiring leases and provide monthly status updates to the client.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly compliance reporting as directed.
  • Perform random internal lease audits as directed.
  • Provide individual and group training for new hires as directed.

Requirements

  • Strong project management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting, prioritize workflow, meet deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects.
  • Flexibility to respond quickly and effectively to shifting demands.
  • Prior experience with CRM systems and internal software systems.
  • Ability to adapt to a continuously evolving environment.
