About the position

National Risk Solutions, a division of Hull & Company, is seeking an Assistant Account Executive to join our team in St. Petersburg, FL. The primary responsibility of the Assistant Account Executive is to review insurance applications by evaluating, classifying, and rating individuals and groups for insurance. This involves accepting or rejecting applications based on a thorough assessment of various factors. In this position, you will work closely with the Account Executive to enhance your understanding of underwriting and company guidelines. You will examine documents such as application forms and inspections to determine the degree of risk associated with applicants, taking into account factors such as the applicant's standing, occupation, accident experience, and the value and condition of the property in question. Collaboration with Account Executives is essential when underwriting or brokering risks, ensuring that all required information is obtained accurately, applications are completed, and that quotes and binders are confirmed in writing. It is also crucial to ensure that policies are issued promptly and accurately, and that state filings are made where applicable. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining all files, records, and reports for accounts. This includes booking and entering accounts into the system database, which encompasses new business, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations. You will also order inspections and review any discrepancies noted on the inspection reports. Analyzing renewals is another key responsibility, ensuring that renewals are issued with the correct premium and making necessary adjustments based on findings from inspections or other materials. You will assist and service producers with any questions or concerns, aiming to improve relationships and overall service delivery. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm quotes and binders in writing, ensuring policies are issued promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain all files, records, and reports for accounts.
  • Book and enter accounts into the system database, including new business, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations.
  • Order inspections and review any discrepancies noted on the inspection.
  • Review and analyze renewals to ensure correct premium issuance and make necessary changes based on findings.
  • Assist and service producers with any questions or concerns to improve relationships.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
