About the position

The Assistant Account Manager (Boat Insurance) at One80 Intermediaries is a hybrid role focused on providing exceptional customer service and support to clients seeking marine insurance. This position involves collaborating with agents and underwriters to ensure client needs are met, preparing insurance proposals, and managing client requests. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the property and casualty insurance industry, particularly in servicing key accounts and maintaining effective relationships with clients and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultative guidance on collaborative initiatives and assess potential risk profiles.
  • Prepare proposals for new business and renewals, handling client requests effectively.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Leverage boat/yacht P&C insurance knowledge to service existing accounts.
  • Organize and manage system records of service, marketing, and policy communications.
  • Assess eligibility of potential clients based on underwriting guidelines.
  • Collect and record detailed risk and underwriting information including survey data and loss history.
  • Review and deliver formal proposals of insurance including coverage details and limits.
  • Conduct follow-up calls and emails with customers to clarify coverage details and respond to inquiries.
  • Prepare specifications and underwriting data for marketing insurance products.
  • Manage renewal business and support new business initiatives by setting up accounts and reviewing policy details.
  • Execute coverage analysis and provide accurate quotations for additional coverages.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of P&C insurance industry experience.
  • Active P&C insurance license, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and analyze data and information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior boating experience and knowledge preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of insurance marketplace trends and best practices.
