About the position

The Assistant Account Manager I at Nelnet Business Services is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by responding to incoming inquiries from payers and applicants regarding their payment accounts. This role involves troubleshooting issues, educating customers about their accounts, and ensuring a positive experience through effective communication and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming payer/applicant phone calls and emails, resolving various issues related to their payment accounts.
  • Make outbound phone calls and send emails associated with account research and problem resolution.
  • Assist payers/applicants in setting up accounts and provide pertinent information to educate them on their account.
  • Update demographic and additional information on payer/applicant accounts.
  • Independently troubleshoot and provide problem resolution to address payer/applicant issues or needs.
  • Model and promote good attendance behaviors within the department.
  • Meet and/or exceed department standards of quality and quantity.

Requirements

  • High school graduate required; at least 2 years of college/technical school preferred (related work experience can substitute for education).
  • Two years of related work experience.
