About the position

The Assistant Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in the monthly and quarterly closing processes, assisting with the consolidation of multiple subsidiaries, intercompany reconciliations, and foreign currency accounting. This position also involves preparing SEC reports and supporting year-end audits, while providing training to staff and managing month-end close activities.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the monthly/quarterly closing process, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with the consolidation process of multiple subsidiaries, including intercompany reconciliation and foreign currency accounting.
  • Produce clear and organized work papers to support SEC filings.
  • Assist with year-end audits.
  • Perform special projects as needed.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with managing month-end close activities.
  • Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements.
  • Assist with interim and year-end audits.
  • Train new and existing staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with month-end close activities, including prepaids, bank reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Experience with consolidations and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of SEC reporting, including 10-Q and 10-K filings.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar accounting software.
  • Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
