About the position

The Assistant Accounting Manager will support the accounting department during a leave of absence, focusing on various aspects of the monthly and quarterly closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and SEC filings. This role requires collaboration with the Accounting Manager and involves managing month-end close activities, preparing consolidated financial statements, and assisting with audits.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the monthly/quarterly closing process including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with the consolidation process of multiple subsidiaries including intercompany reconciliation and foreign currency accounting.
  • Assist in the preparation and timely filing of SEC reports, including 10-Q, 10-K, and other filings.
  • Produce clear and organized work papers that support the Company's SEC filings.
  • Assist with year-end audits.
  • Perform special projects as needed.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with managing month-end close activities and preparation of quarterly consolidated financial statements.
  • Assist with interim and year-end audits, and training new and existing staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience required, including public accounting experience - Big 4 preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving, solid analytical skills, and follow-through skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
