About the position
The Assistant Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting team of a large beverage manufacturer. This position involves participating in the monthly and quarterly closing processes, preparing SEC filings, and assisting with audits. The role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on collaboration and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Participate in various aspects of the monthly/quarterly closing process including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with the consolidation process of multiple subsidiaries including intercompany reconciliation and foreign currency accounting.
- Assist in the preparation and timely filing of reports required with the SEC, including reports on 10-Q, 10-K and other filings.
- Produce clear and organized work papers that adequately support the Company's SEC filings.
- Assist with year-end audits.
- Perform special projects as needed.
- Assist the Accounting Manager with managing month-end close activities, preparation of quarterly consolidated financial statements, assisting with interim and year-end audits, and training new and existing staff as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or any other related field of study
- 4+ years of accounting experience required
- Previous experience with working with publicly traded companies
- Ability to prepare 10-K and 10-Q reports
- Experience with year end audits
