In this position, the Assistant Accounting Manager will oversee the management of the accounting department, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently for multiple sets of books. The candidate will be responsible for mentoring Staff Accountants, ensuring accurate financial records, and assisting with various accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end and year-end processes. Additionally, the role involves assisting with bimonthly payroll processing for multiple entities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the overall management of the accounting department, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently for multiple sets of books.
  • Oversee and mentor Staff Accountants, in conjunction with the Accounting Manager, to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Assist with bimonthly payroll processing for multiple entities.
  • Assist with account reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Requirements

  • A 4-year accounting degree, OR at least 5 years of relevant work experience in the accounting field.
  • 1+ years of management experience.
  • Must be detail-oriented and professional.
  • Strong administrative organizational skills.
  • Hardworking, dependable, self-motivated, and responsible.
  • Experience in QuickBooks or Microsoft Business Central is a plus.
