About the position

The Assistant Administrator II at Psynergy Programs is responsible for supervising the work of Residential Caregivers and ensuring the provision of high-quality residential services in compliance with Community Care Licensing regulations. This role involves overseeing client support from admission to discharge, managing staff interactions, and acting in support of the Administrator when necessary. The position requires a strong background in mental health care and supervisory experience to maintain the facility's standards of care.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the work of all Residential Caregivers and direct the provision of residential services.
  • Ensure clients are properly supported in the facility from admit to discharge.
  • Act in support of the Administrator and interface with Community Care Licensing in their absence.
  • Conduct interviews, hire, and perform performance reviews for Residential Caregivers.
  • Supervise daily activities of Residential Counselors including scheduling, training, and discipline.
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, review, monitor, and evaluate the work of Residential Counselors.
  • Review and approve timecards for all direct reports.
  • Ensure timely completion of daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Take on-call duty on assigned nights.
  • Work with the Administrator to maintain compliance with Community Care Licensing regulations.
  • Inspect, log, and follow up on necessary repairs in the facility.
  • Prepare for and orient new clients, assisting with admission paperwork and settling in.
  • Oversee organization of onsite and offsite storage for client belongings.
  • Participate in committees and complete facility audits in a timely manner.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for incident reporting and emergency transport.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and monitor behavioral changes.
  • Reinforce positive behavior and offer counseling to residents in need.
  • Ensure the facility is clean and well-kept, directing light cleaning duties as needed.
  • Coordinate or provide transportation for clients to outings and appointments.
  • Assist with self-administration of medications as per policies.
  • Lead or assist with recreational activities.

Requirements

  • CPR Certification
  • 3 years of direct care experience with individuals with mental illness
  • Two years supervisory experience preferred
  • Current Administrator Certificate issued by the State of California
  • Valid California driver's license and good driving record
  • Must be 25 years of age or older
  • Criminal record clearance as required by Title XXII regulations
  • High school diploma or GED required; AA or BA in psychology or business administration preferred
  • 3+ years' experience in counseling, social work, or a residential facility desired

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in behavioral health or in residential care
  • Additional qualifications or certifications such as CNA, NVCI, First Aid, etc.
