About the position

The Assistant Administrator at Lakeland Health Care Center plays a crucial role in supporting the Nursing Home Administrator by overseeing facility operations and ensuring compliance with quality assurance and improvement initiatives. This position is responsible for maintaining survey readiness and addressing deficiencies in collaboration with facility leadership. The Assistant Administrator also supervises facility leaders in the absence of the Nursing Home Administrator and contributes to various operational and compliance-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Nursing Home Administrator with the management of day-to-day facility operations.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Administrator in their absence and at other times delegated.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to department managers in developing quality assurance and quality improvement efforts.
  • Partner with all departments to create, review, and update necessary policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all policies meet state and federal requirements.
  • Work with the Administrator, Director of Nursing, and Human Resources to develop a yearly Employee Recruitment and Retention Plan.
  • Lead the abuse investigation process and prepare self-reports to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
  • Ensure the facility remains in a survey-ready status and develop a survey plan to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Assist with the state survey process and formulate plans of correction when citations are imposed.
  • Function as the Compliance Liaison to meet Corporate Compliance Agreement requirements.
  • Lead the Safety Committee and conduct monthly safety rounds to ensure compliance with CMS life safety regulations.
  • Serve as liaison to the Public Works Department and conduct emergency drills with maintenance staff.
  • Lead the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement meeting and create Performance Improvement Plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field with nursing home experience preferred.
  • At least two to three years of experience in a long-term care setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and consult with a wide range of employees.
  • Strong computer proficiency and excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.

  • Experience in quality assurance and performance improvement in healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to nursing homes.
