About the position

The Assistant Administrator at Liberty Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services plays a crucial role in supervising facility operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining a positive atmosphere for both staff and patients. This position involves assisting the Administrator in various administrative tasks, including policy implementation, staff training, budget preparation, and community relations, all aimed at promoting a high standard of care within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising the facility Department Directors and ensure appropriate job performance by all employees.
  • Maintain, direct, coordinate, and supervise all activities of the Facility.
  • Establish and maintain personnel policies and department procedures, ensuring compliance by staff.
  • Interpret Nursing Facility's philosophy and explain policies to staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Review and recommend changes to policies and procedures to the Administrator.
  • Assist in compliance reviews with federal, state, and local standards for Nursing Facility operations.
  • Select competent personnel for facility operations and maintain job descriptions.
  • Conduct in-service training for supervisory personnel and staff.
  • Meet with Department Directors monthly to discuss departmental issues and solutions.
  • Evaluate the financial status of the Facility monthly and assist in budget preparation.
  • Maintain good public relations and represent the Nursing Facility in community activities.
  • Monitor staffing levels to ensure compliance with mandated requirements.
  • Assist in the grievance process and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older and of good moral character.
  • Completed at least 2 years of college or have at least 4 years of supervisory experience in a Nursing Facility.
  • Preferred to have a valid N.C. license to operate as a Nursing Home Administrator or in the process of obtaining one.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and follow up on work assignments.
  • Sound knowledge of personnel administration and ability to supervise employees.
  • Knowledge of local, Federal, and State regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of economic conditions and ability to adjust operational costs accordingly.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and prepare monthly reports.
