About the position
The Assistant/Associate Adjunct Faculty in Business Analytics will teach the course OPS 881.01 (Data Modeling and Visualization) during the Winter Term 2025 at Saint Mary's College. This role involves equipping students with analytical skills to translate managerial decision scenarios into structured mathematical models and finding optimal solutions using Excel. The faculty member will also guide students in creating compelling narratives to present their data-driven analyses effectively, utilizing data visualization software such as Tableau.
Responsibilities
- Teach OPS 881.01 (Data Modeling and Visualization) course in-person and online.
- Prepare and deliver course content that includes linear programming, integer programming, simulation, and data visualization.
- Guide students in using Excel for mathematical modeling and data analysis.
- Instruct students on data visualization techniques using software packages like Tableau.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Business Analytics or a closely related field preferred.
- Successful record of teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
- Experience or familiarity with online/hybrid instruction.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in teaching graduate-level courses.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools beyond Tableau.
