About the position

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking faculty members at any level in the area of polymeric materials within the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. The role involves establishing a world-class research program, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring students, and contributing to departmental governance and service. This position is part of the RISE-EARTH initiative, focusing on addressing environmental challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration and research.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses for a diverse student body.
  • Supervise graduate student research and mentor graduate students.
  • Develop and direct a strong, funded research program.
  • Participate in departmental and university faculty governance.
  • Engage positively with an inclusive and collaborative department.
  • Contribute to professional and public service.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools, and colleges.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent degree in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant research experience.
