About the position

The Department of Finance in the School of Business Administration at The University of Mississippi invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions (open rank) to start in August, 2025. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate, MBA, and/or doctoral level courses in finance and to perform duties assigned by the Dean of the School of Business Administration and Chair of the Department of Finance. The normal teaching load for a research-active faculty member is 2/2 (6 credit hours each semester, Fall and Spring) with the option to teach summer courses for additional pay subject to course and funding availability. A strong record of quality research and teaching is required for tenure.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate, MBA, and/or doctoral level courses in finance.
  • Perform duties assigned by the Dean of the School of Business Administration and Chair of the Department of Finance.
  • Maintain a strong record of quality research and teaching.

Requirements

  • Earned a doctorate degree in finance or hold ABD status with expected degree completion prior to August, 2025.
  • Demonstrated research and teaching interests in finance.
  • Proven track record of original research and/or publication in quality finance journals.
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to scholarship, effective teaching, and service.
  • Meet the departmental AACSB standards for Scholarly Academics (SA).
