The University of Missouri School of Medicine is seeking talented research professors at all ranks to join the Thompson Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders. This center is nationally recognized for its translational research on autism and related disorders, and it is expanding its research capabilities. The successful candidates will focus on clinical research that encompasses a variety of areas including clinical trials, epigenetic influences on autism outcomes, early infant markers of risk and developmental trajectories, eye-tracking and psychophysiology, and sleep research. The center collaborates with prestigious institutions across the nation, including UCSF, UVA, Cornell, WashU, Brown, and KUMC, providing a rich environment for interdisciplinary research and collaboration. The University of Missouri offers exceptional resources to support clinical research, including state-of-the-art neuroimaging facilities and strong research cores linked to clinical care. The Thompson Center is equipped with well-established research and training cores that facilitate effectiveness trials, implementation and dissemination research, and community-oriented patient-centered outcomes research. This position is ideal for scientists with Ph.D. and/or MD/DO degrees who are committed to team science approaches in various domains related to autism and neurodevelopmental disorders. Candidates should be eager to leverage animal models, engage in dissemination and implementation of research, and utilize the strong statewide relationships and training infrastructure available at the Thompson Center. Clinician scientists who can integrate clinical care with basic science approaches are particularly encouraged to apply. These faculty members can expect to dedicate up to 20% of their time to clinical responsibilities, with the remainder focused on established research funding and dedicated start-up time. Faculty will have an academic home in the School of Medicine, with potential joint appointments in the School of Health Professions, depending on their discipline.
