About the position

The Assistant/Associate Medical Oncologist at Moffitt Cancer Center is responsible for providing specialized patient care in the diagnosis and treatment of various cancers and hematological conditions. This role involves practicing medicine within the scope of authority granted by Moffitt, contributing to the institution's mission of cancer prevention and cure, and participating in clinical, research, educational, and administrative activities as allocated by the Chief. The position is integral to the academic medical enterprise and supports the advancement of patient care, research, and education.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the diagnosis and treatment of malignant diseases of the blood, spleen, and lymph glands.
• Utilize chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted biologic therapies for treating conditions such as leukemia and lymphoma.
• Practice medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center.
• Serve as a member of the Moffitt Medical Group and the academic medical enterprise.
• Advance the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer through clinical and research activities.
• Participate in educational activities related to patient care and research.

Requirements

• MD or equivalent degree.
• Board certified (or eligible) in Hematology/Oncology.
• Successful completion of an approved Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology.
• Florida Medical License.
• DEA License.
• ACLS certification as required by privileges granted through Medical Staff.
