About the position

The University of California, San Diego is seeking an Academic Surgical Pathologist to join its Division of Anatomic Pathology at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. This position involves clinical responsibilities for specimens from various clinical programs and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. The role emphasizes academic excellence and diversity within the faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and sign-out on multiple clinical subspecialty services within the Anatomic Pathology Division.
  • Provide clinical responsibilities for specimens generated from various clinical programs.
  • Engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent, DO, or MD/PhD in pathology or related fields.
  • Eligibility for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Anatomic or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
  • Completion of fellowship training in a Subspecialty of Surgical Pathology by the start of the appointment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum of 3 years of sign-out experience in a subspecialty area of surgical pathology.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $260,000 - $325,000, with potential for additional compensation under the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.
