About the position

The University of Mississippi School of Law invites applications and nominations for as many as three professors during the 2025-2026 academic year. This is a tenure track position and appointments will be at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor depending on experience. Course preferences include the following: Intellectual Property/Trademarks, Wills and Estates, Family Law, Bankruptcy, Business Associations, Secured Transactions, Corporate Finance, Civil Procedure, Contracts, Labor Law, Employment Law, and Health Care Law. As an outstanding public law school, the University of Mississippi School of Law leads, excels, and inspires by preparing students for the practice of law in a changing global marketplace, expanding the horizons of legal knowledge through scholarly research, and serving diverse communities in the state, region, nation, and world.

Requirements

  • A J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • A commitment to teaching in an environment dedicated to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students
  • A distinguished academic background
  • Either great promise or a record of excellence in both scholarship and teaching
