The Department of Pharmacology at the University of California - San Diego School of Medicine is conducting an open search for Project Scientists and Research Scientists at the Assistant, Associate, or Full level. This position is focused on performing vital research in areas relevant to signal transduction, drug discovery, molecular specificity of therapeutic or environmental agents, drug disposition and action, structural and computational biology, cancer biology, and inflammation. Project Scientists are expected to make significant and creative contributions to research projects, which includes performing studies and experiments, providing onsite teaching to students in the lab, preparing presentations, and reporting and summarizing data. Research Scientists, on the other hand, are expected to serve as Principal Investigators on extramural grants, generate high-caliber publications and research products, develop and continuously lead an independent and creative research program of high quality and significance, teach and mentor postdocs and students in the laboratory, and garner scholarly reputations. The appointment level and rank for this position will depend on the candidate's academic experience and scholarly achievements.
