About the position

The University of North Texas is seeking a faculty member for the Counseling Program at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Professor. This tenure-track position is focused on research, teaching, and leadership within the program, contributing to its national excellence. The selected candidate will engage in scholarly activities, teach graduate courses, supervise students, and participate in professional organizations and university committees. The role is set to begin in the fall semester of 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Pursuing a focused line of research leading to publications in refereed journals and to extramural funding.
  • Teaching two courses each semester in CACREP core and counseling specialty areas.
  • Serving on doctoral committees and advising/mentoring students.
  • Providing clinical supervision to master's and doctoral level students.
  • Collaborating with faculty members in the Counseling Program and affiliated centers to enhance the Program's national stature.
  • Participating actively in professional organizations and university committees.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in counselor education from a CACREP-accredited program by start of employment.
  • Demonstrated record of effective teaching, supervision, and professional activity.
  • Strength and flexibility to teach across the CACREP core, including both clinical and didactic courses.
