About the position

The Department of Computer Science at Bowling Green State University is seeking applications for a full-time, 9-month faculty position in Cybersecurity, which can be filled at either the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (tenured) level. The role involves teaching, advising students, conducting research, and providing service to the department and university. The position aims to enhance the educational experience of students and contribute to the university's mission of public good through research and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a variety of courses in Programming, Data Structures, Algorithms, Networking, Database, or Cybersecurity at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Advise undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Seek and obtain external funding to support a research program that results in peer-reviewed publications.
  • Provide service at the department, college, university, professional, and community levels.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or equivalent in computer science, cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline (ABD candidates will be considered if the degree is completed by August 2025).
  • Teaching experience at the college level as a course instructor, teaching assistant, guest lecturer, or practicum instructor.
  • Established research background in cybersecurity evidenced by peer-reviewed publications or conference presentations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Teaching experience specifically in cybersecurity at the college level.
  • Experience with research grant proposals and submission to funding agencies.
  • Institutional, professional, or community-level service experience.
