About the position

The Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity at New England College is a full-time faculty position focused on teaching undergraduate and some graduate-level courses within the Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity programs. This role is based on the Henniker, New Hampshire campus and involves a variety of responsibilities beyond teaching, including committee work, academic advising, program updates, and assessment of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems (BS CIS) and Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity (BS Cybersecurity) majors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to effective and innovative pedagogy, possess the ability to engage with diverse student populations, and support active learning and experiential education. In this position, the faculty member will be responsible for teaching core undergraduate courses in Computer Information Systems, such as Introduction to Programming Logic & Design, Information Systems in Organizations, and Network Communications. Additionally, they will teach core undergraduate courses in Cybersecurity, including Cybersecurity Foundations, Networking, Databases, and Network Defense. The role also includes teaching some graduate courses in CIS, Cybersecurity, and Data Analytics, as well as assisting with Executive Residency programs. The faculty member will oversee undergraduate student advising, internships, and maintain relationships with employers and industry partners. Participation in new program development, on-campus program activities, and off-site field trips to enhance student experiential education opportunities is also expected.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Disciplinary knowledge in Computer Information Systems or Information Technology.
  • Disciplinary knowledge in Cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Adept at teaching in various modalities: in-person, hybrid, online, and asynchronous.
  • Terminal degree in CIS/IT/Cybersecurity discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in specialty area or earned master's degree in related field.
