About the position

The College of Education and Human Development at Augusta University is seeking two faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor for full-time, tenure track positions to play a crucial role in shaping the future of pre-service and in-service teacher candidates in the Department of Teaching and Leading. This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract.

Responsibilities

• Developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (teaching a 3-3 load each academic year). Candidates should be able to teach on multiple platforms (face-to-face, asynchronous, and synchronous).
• Establishing or continuing a robust research agenda with aspirations to develop a national or international presence in their field.
• Providing service as appropriate to the department, college, university, the community, and the profession.

Requirements

• Earned terminal degree from an accredited university in Curriculum and Instruction, Teaching and Learning, Middle Grades or Secondary Education, or a related educational field.
• For Assistant Professor: Evidence of research potential to achieve national/international recognition with further development and outstanding teaching characteristics.
• For Associate Professor: At least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, with evidence of a focused research agenda and substantial service.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in K-12 teaching.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty and mentor students.
• Proven track record in online instruction in both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments.
• Familiarity with Brightspace/D2L.
