About the position
Langston University is seeking a non-tenure track, full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of English. The role focuses on teaching, scholarship, and service to the university, particularly with marginalized populations. The position is set to begin in Spring 2025 and will remain open until filled.
Responsibilities
- Teach a 5/4 load of courses in English.
- Provide academic advising to undergraduate students.
- Actively seek grants and funding to enhance the department's research program and student support.
- Participate in departmental, school, and university projects and committees.
- Contribute to the planning and development of the English department.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in English-literature, rhetoric, or a closely related field is required; ABD candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Preferred college teaching experience.
- Expertise in teaching marginalized populations and corequisite composition, or in cultural rhetorics and literacy.
- Ability to demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom.
- Willingness to teach online and engage students from traditionally underrepresented populations.
