About the position

The Assistant/Associate Professor of Robotics Engineering at SUNY Polytechnic Institute is a full-time tenure-track position aimed at enhancing the university's engineering programs. The role involves teaching undergraduate courses in robotics engineering and lower division engineering sciences, developing a funded research program, and contributing to the academic community through outreach and committee service. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty across various engineering disciplines and support the university's strategic goals in technology and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and develop curricula for undergraduate engineering courses in robotics and lower division engineering sciences.
  • Develop an externally funded scholarly research program in robotics engineering, involving graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Advise undergraduate students and assist with student club activities.
  • Work with engineering faculty to maintain EAC-ABET accreditation.
  • Contribute to outreach activities for the College and community.
  • Participate in the assessment and development of engineering courses and serve on university committees.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field with a specialty in Robotics.
  • Record of outstanding academic and scholarly achievements.
