About the position

The University of North Alabama is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional for the position of Assistant/Associate/Senior Associate Athletic Director for Championship Resources. This full-time role is pivotal in driving fundraising activities for the Division of Athletics, with a strong focus on enhancing philanthropic engagement for the North Alabama Athletics Department. The successful candidate will oversee the daily fundraising operations, ensuring alignment with the university's broader goals, particularly the Shine On, Gold! capital campaign and the construction of Bank Independent Stadium. In this role, the individual will collaborate closely with the Director of Athletics, the Vice President for University Advancement, and the UNA Foundation staff. The position requires a strategic approach to managing, planning, and executing a comprehensive fundraising program that not only meets immediate financial needs but also fosters long-term relationships with alumni, parents, and friends of the university. The candidate will be expected to work in a team-oriented environment, engaging with various stakeholders to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward potential donors, thereby contributing to the athletic department's success. The title of the position will be determined based on the successful applicant's experience and educational background, reflecting the university's commitment to recognizing and rewarding expertise in the field of athletic fundraising. Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily fundraising activities for the athletic department.
  • Manage, plan, and execute a comprehensive fundraising program.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Athletics and other divisional staff to identify funding opportunities.
  • Cultivate and solicit donations from alumni, parents, and friends of the university.
  • Work closely with the UNA Foundation staff to align fundraising efforts with university goals.
  • Lead specific development funding opportunities for Intercollegiate Athletics programs.
  • Engage in community outreach and event planning related to stewardship and recognition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in university fundraising is required.
  • Experience in fundraising and solicitation at the university level in intercollegiate athletics is preferred.
  • Experience in community outreach and planning events related to stewardship is preferred.
  • Experience with businesses, corporations, and foundations in establishing strong relationships is preferred.
