About the position

The Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications at Kent State University Athletics is responsible for overseeing the communication and public relations efforts of the Intercollegiate Athletics program. This role involves managing various aspects of the athletic program, including media relations, budget development, and compliance with regulations, while serving as a liaison between the community and the athletics department.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned areas of the athletic program including facility scheduling, fiscal policy, events scheduling, and media relations.
• Serve as a liaison between the community and Intercollegiate Athletics, providing requested information for assigned program areas.
• Oversee budget development and personnel administration for the assigned program area.
• Maintain records and provide reports for the assigned area.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and NCAA regulations.
• Serve on various department, division, and University committees.
• Lead a small department or unit and supervise administrative/professional employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in athletic communications or a related area.
