About the position

The Assistant Athletic Director, Financial Reporting & Analysis plays a crucial role in the Athletics Department by managing complex financial reporting requirements. This position is responsible for compiling and completing various financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. Additionally, the role involves conducting research and analysis to support financial planning and decision-making within the department.

Responsibilities

• Design and build reporting tools for daily, monthly, and yearly financial reports.
• Serve as the primary liaison to external auditors and the university's financial reporting office.
• Partner with administrators to execute departmental goals and values.
• Oversee preparation and analysis of financial structures and forecasting for the Athletic Department.
• Develop and implement policies and training for staff to ensure adherence to procedures and goals.
• Create and influence operating policies and contribute to policy development.
• Research and develop information systems for peer comparisons with Arizona Athletics.
• Oversee a team of analysts conducting complex research and analyses.
• Establish relationships with peer institutions and publish reports for executive administration.
• Hire, supervise, and train staff, setting goals for success.
• Oversee daily performance and ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
• Manage special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning through professional experience required.
• Minimum of five years of related work experience, including two years of managerial experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Masters of Business Administration in Data Analytics degree.
• Experience working in a college or university athletic department.
