About the position

The Assistant Athletic Director for Administration at Creighton University is responsible for overseeing the administration of the Athletics department, including the creation and communication of departmental policies, financial operations, human resources, and travel management. This role involves collaboration with various divisions to ensure effective budgeting, compliance with university standards, and the promotion of professional development within the department. The position also includes supervisory responsibilities over key administrative staff and the management of travel policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Create, distribute, and communicate departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Provide financial reports and analysis, and approve certain expenditures.
  • Oversee the Administrative Assistant, Equipment Manager, and Accounts Payable Coordinator.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resource Division on position management and compensation.
  • Write and update job descriptions and assist in the hiring process.
  • Develop and manage departmental onboarding materials.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Division on budgeting and budget management.
  • Support internal controls and develop policies and procedures within the business office.
  • Review and approve expenditures and complete ad hoc reporting.
  • Create and prepare presentations for staff meetings and review contract processing.
  • Manage travel policies and procedures, and approve charter air travel for teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 4-6 years of administration, human resource, and/or finance experience required.
  • Familiarity with management and leadership preferred.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and trends and present financial information.
  • Experience with budget management.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
