About the position

The Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance is responsible for overseeing and implementing compliance matters related to a Division I Athletics program. This role involves supervising assigned sports programs and providing leadership for the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC). The position also includes collaboration with various student services and representation of the athletics department on university, conference, and national committees.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and implement compliance matters for a Division I Athletics program.
  • Supervise assigned sports programs and provide leadership for SAAC.
  • Collaborate with student services including academic advising, admissions, and financial aid.
  • Represent the athletics department on various university, conference, and national committees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in sports management, athletics administration, or related field.
  • Three years of athletic administrative experience at the collegiate level.
  • Demonstrated understanding of NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
  • Ability to effectively organize, manage, and supervise a department unit.
  • Commitment to gender equity and diversity.
  • Strong administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics rules and the student-athlete experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in sport management, health, or business administration related field.
  • NCAA Division I athletic administration experience.
  • Student-athlete services administrative experience.
