About the position

Franklin Pierce University is seeking an Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing, Outreach, & Operations to join our Athletic Department. This full-time, 12-month position is based in Rindge, NH, and is responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of all aspects of the Athletic Department's annual giving initiatives. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the visibility and engagement of our athletic programs through effective marketing strategies and donor relations. In this role, the Assistant Athletic Director will be responsible for planning and executing various donor events, including the Hall of Fame, alumni weekends, away game tailgates, and the Rocky Classic Golf Tournament. The position requires coordination of donor hospitality, particularly during football game days, and managing all aspects of donor relationships, including invoicing, renewals, ticketing inquiries, catering, and special requests. The Assistant Athletic Director will also coordinate special initiatives for the Raven Fund, manage the annual calendar of events, and maintain financial and budget data related to the Raven Fund and other expenditures. Additionally, the Assistant Athletic Director will be tasked with creating and distributing communications for the Raven Fund, such as acknowledgment letters, newsletters, new member packets, postcards, and brochures. The role involves soliciting gifts and cultivating relationships with donors, managing sales and marketing campaigns for athletic events, and enhancing the fan experience by representing the Athletic Department at university and community events. The Assistant Athletic Director will also oversee and coordinate assigned student staff, interns, and volunteers, ensuring a collaborative and productive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute all donor events, including Hall of Fame, alumni weekends, away game tailgates, and the Rocky Classic Golf Tournament.

  • Coordinate special Raven Fund initiatives such as Giving Day.
  • Manage the annual calendar of Raven Fund events.
  • Maintain financial and budget data for the Raven Fund and related expenditures.
  • Create and distribute communications for the Raven Fund, including acknowledgment letters, newsletters, and brochures.
  • Solicit gifts and cultivate relationships with donors.
  • Manage sales and marketing campaigns for athletic events.
  • Enhance the fan experience and represent the Athletic Department at university and community events.
  • Oversee and coordinate assigned student staff, interns, and volunteers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in post-secondary education, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two years of experience in a development office, donor relations, fundraising, or a related field.
