About the position

The Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Student Success is responsible for managing the athletics compliance office's daily operations. This role involves monitoring and enforcing NCAA, Great Lakes Valley Conference, and University regulations, as well as educating student-athletes, coaches, and staff on compliance matters. The position plays a crucial role in ensuring the eligibility of student-athletes and overseeing various compliance-related reports and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Complete athletic eligibility certification of all incoming and returning student-athletes.
  • Conduct education of rules and regulations to student-athletes, coaches, alumni/donors, and University constituencies.
  • Monitor weekly CARA hours.
  • Enroll and monitor the completion of NCAA Mandatory Coaches Certification tests, ensuring completion of mandatory CPR and EAP testing.
  • Monitor and approve all Off-Campus athletic recruiting activities.
  • Complete Mandatory NCAA forms and ensure they are submitted on time.
  • Complete and submit the EADA Federal Report due Oct 15th.
  • Complete and submit NCAA Financial Report due on January 15th.
  • Complete and submit Sexual Violence training to NCAA due May 1st.
  • Complete and submit NCAA Graduation rates due June 15th.
  • Complete and submit NCAA Academic Success rate due 8 weeks after the first day of classes in the Fall.
  • Complete Blue Print Review conducted every 5 years by NCAA.
  • Work with Accounting to complete the NCAA Financial Audit performed every 3 years.
  • Oversee programs assigned by VP of Athletics (sports medicine, strength and conditioning, baseball, softball, and women's soccer).
  • Assist Title IX Deputy for the University.
  • Preparation of all athletic department Human Resource forms, PCR's, PTR's, Position application, summaries, Job Advertisements, and job descriptions.
  • Complete PTR's for all casual appointments.
  • Requisitions for all athletic off-campus housing stipends.
  • Serve as Institutional voter for new legislation at the NCAA National Convention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree, doctorate, or J.D. preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years working in an Athletics Compliance Office, Conference Office, or NCAA Compliance setting.
  • Understanding of Title IX applicable handling procedures for complaints.
  • Understanding of the University operating system for requisitions.
  • Understanding of Title IX office complaint procedures.
  • Knowledge of legislation affecting the sports medicine world.
