About the position

The Assistant Athletic Director of Operations at Indiana University Kokomo is responsible for ensuring compliance with NAIA regulations, managing student-athlete eligibility, overseeing financial aid and scholarships, and contributing to the overall success of the athletic department. This role involves strategic planning for revenue generation, community outreach, and event management, while also ensuring adherence to NCAA and university policies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure student-athlete eligibility by processing requirements with the NAIA Eligibility Center.
  • Oversee communication and administration of financial aid and scholarships for student-athletes.
  • Manage roster management and coding of student-athletes for all sports.
  • Oversee the approval process for student-athletes dropping classes to ensure NAIA compliance.
  • Complete mandated forms, reports, assessments, and audits as required by various agencies.
  • Track the completion of new rules education system introduced by NAIA.
  • Maintain systems for rules monitoring and staff education.
  • Educate student-athletes on Name, Image, and Likeness compliance and maintain records of NIL deals.
  • Act as a liaison between NAIA, Eligibility Center, and other institutions regarding compliance.
  • Contribute to game day setup and management for home events.
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for athletics revenue generation and corporate sponsorships.
  • Manage and expand the current sponsorship level program.
  • Lead external donor engagement efforts in support of the athletics strategic plan.
  • Assist in planning and implementing fundraising events to generate external revenue.
  • Collaborate with Media and Marketing for branding of IUK Athletics and events.
  • Assist in planning key departmental events such as Golf Outings and End of Year Celebrations.
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2 years of experience with intercollegiate program management required.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Strong time management and priority setting skills.
  • High commitment to quality and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
  • Thoroughness and dependability with a high level of accuracy under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, sports management or related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) preferred.
