About the position

The Assistant Athletic Director - Ticketing & External Operations at the University of North Florida plays a crucial role in managing the Athletics Ticket Office and overseeing external operations. This position involves strategic planning, policy development, and direct engagement with student-athletes and the community to enhance the department's revenue generation and brand awareness. The role requires a blend of operational management, financial oversight, and community engagement to support the overall mission of the Athletics Department.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and assist in planning, directing, and reporting activities within the department.
  • Contribute to the short and long-term vision and planning for the department.
  • Assist in developing and managing the implementation of policies, processes, and training.
  • Provide coaching and consultation with student-athletes on various issues.
  • Develop proposals, recommendations, and reports for senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage the overall direction and supervision of the Athletics Ticket Office.
  • Prepare financial reports and manage ticket promotions, seat assignments, and audits.
  • Oversee ticket distribution to external outlets and contract vendors.
  • Build specific seasons, events, and price tables into the ticketing system.
  • Coordinate ticket inventory and account for voided and unsold tickets.
  • Prepare event batches for ticket sales and balance all funds received.
  • Handle customer inquiries regarding ticket issues and manage ticket office security after hours.
  • Create and update databases for management reports and season ticket holders.
  • Manage graduate assistants, game day staff, and student assistants/interns.
  • Assist with outbound ticket sales strategies and community engagement initiatives.
  • Promote the Athletics Department through social media and digital content creation.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a directly related area and two years of relevant experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree in a directly related area and four years of relevant experience, or
  • Eight years of direct experience in a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in college athletics.
  • Graphic design experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe software.
