About the position

The Assistant Athletic Director (Assistant AD) plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Athletics by overseeing various aspects of intercollegiate athletics at Southeastern Community College (SCC). This position involves managing external communications for all sports, coordinating athletic events, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and representing the department in the absence of the Athletic Director. The Assistant AD is expected to foster a collaborative environment and promote the athletic programs effectively.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise designated aspects of intercollegiate athletics at SCC.
• Serve as the main liaison for communication efforts promoting all athletic teams.
• Ensure compliance with NJCAA and ICCAC regulations, as well as SCC Board Policies.
• Demonstrate leadership in building a positive team environment within the department.
• Develop and communicate the athletic department's philosophy and goals.
• Work closely with head coaches on marketing and fundraising efforts.
• Collaborate with the Athletic Director on fundraising and community outreach initiatives.
• Maintain knowledge of operations and manage athletic publicity and media relations.
• Serve as the On-Site Administrator for home athletic events as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of athletic administration or related experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
• Self-motivated, energetic, and creative with planning and organization skills.
• Proven success in managing external communications.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills in managing athletic events.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
