About the position

The Assistant Athletic Director at Trinity Washington University is a full-time, 10-month position located within the Athletics department of the Student Affairs Department. This role is integral to supporting the university's NCAA Division III women's sports programs, which include soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and lacrosse. The Assistant Athletic Director will work closely with the Athletic Director to manage the overall athletics program, ensuring that all initiatives align with the university's goals and support the student-athletes effectively. In this position, the Assistant Athletic Director is expected to maintain a visible and accessible presence for student-athletes, serving as a positive role model. The role requires attendance at all home games, which is essential for fostering a supportive environment for the athletes. The Assistant Athletic Director will also oversee various aspects of sports information, including the coordination of statistics coverage for home games, management of the athletics website, and maintenance of social media accounts. Additionally, the Assistant Athletic Director will assist in coordinating team travel, managing athletic schedules, and administering game contracts. This position also involves supporting the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, managing equipment distribution, and monitoring student-athlete academic performance. The Assistant Athletic Director will supervise student workers and facilitate game-day setups, ensuring a smooth operation during events. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the athletics program and its student-athletes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee sports information to provide and coordinate stats coverage for all home games.
  • Maintain website and social media accounts for Athletics.
  • Assist with coordination of team travel and officials.
  • Assist with athletic schedules and administer game contracts.
  • Assist with Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
  • Manage and distribute all equipment.
  • Assist with student-athlete study hall and monitor grades.
  • Assist with student-athlete recruiting and retention.
  • Assist with academic tracking of student-athletes.
  • Supervise student-workers and facilitate/oversee game-day setup.
  • Attend all home games.
  • Assist with coaching a team.
  • Create a positive and welcoming environment for all student-athletes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required in an appropriate area of specialization.
  • Experience working in NCAA athletics; preferably with sports information/websites.
  • Experience working with social media platforms.
  • Experience working with Stat software preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse, urban college women first-generation college students.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written communication.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • CPR certification.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Valid Driver's License.
