About the position

The Assistant Athletic Trainer will support the Head Athletic Trainer in providing comprehensive care for athletic injuries, including first aid, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation. This role involves attending game-day events, traveling to road contests, and managing the athletic training room during practices and competitions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular attendance in accordance with department policy.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
• Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
• Understand and comply with the policies of the College Staff Handbook.
• Demonstrate commitment to customer service and establish effective relationships with internal and external customers.
• Perform duties as a team member in a manner supportive of department and College procedures, policies, and goals.
• Protect confidentiality of college information.
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Communicate with others in a courteous and helpful manner.
• May be asked to fill positions considered essential during weather emergencies or other events requiring special staffing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent NATA certification and Iowa Licensure required.
• Concentration in athletic training or related field and one year or more experience is required (Athletic Training experience as part of a master's practicum will count toward experience).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• BOC Certification and Iowa Licensure/eligibility are preferred.
