About the position

The Assistant Bank Center Manager at Veritex Bank is responsible for contributing to the growth and profitability of the Community Banking Center by creating a positive working environment and providing superior banking services. This role involves assisting in the supervision of branch operations, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and promoting business development while maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in supervising branch sales and services operations.
  • Ensures operations comply with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Provides suggestions for improved effectiveness and ensures branch security.
  • Assists with opening and closing the building according to set hours.
  • Tests security equipment as assigned and ensures daily transaction balancing.
  • Proofs Tellers, runs related reports, and balances the vault at the end of each day.
  • Provides assistance to Tellers as needed and completes month-end certification of cash items.
  • Assists with Financial Service Representative functions and performs loan processing duties.
  • Handles direct deposit functions and safe deposit boxes, and assists in opening new customer accounts.
  • Promotes branch business development and actively cross-sells company products and services.
  • Completes required reports and ensures proper documentation of branch functions.
  • Coaches, counsels, and develops work schedules for branch personnel.
  • Ensures personnel are well trained and conducts performance appraisals.
  • Establishes and maintains effective business relations with customers and resolves their requests promptly.

Requirements

  • 2 years of retail banking or related experience in the financial services industry.
  • Excellent customer service skills and behaviors.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop individuals and teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional grammar.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in loan processing and financial services.
  • Proficiency in PC and internet usage.
