About the position

The Assistant Baseball Coach at Montgomery County Community College is a part-time, temporary position responsible for supporting the head coach in managing the baseball program. This role involves assisting with practices, recruiting student-athletes, and ensuring compliance with athletic regulations. The assistant coach will work closely with the head coach to promote the mission and objectives of the athletic department and contribute to the academic success of the student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in all aspects of running the baseball program.
• Conduct well-organized practices and off-season programs.
• Set up the field/gym for games and practices alongside the head coach.
• Recruit quality student-athletes for the program.
• Ensure the academic success and retention of student-athletes.
• Travel with the team during school-related functions, if transportation is provided by the college.
• Familiarize oneself with college, conference, region, NJCAA rules, guidelines, and compliance.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Relevant coaching experience required; collegiate coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of NCAA and NJCAA rules and compliance required.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certifications are required.
