About the position

The Assistant Bookkeeper will support the accounting team at The Law Offices of Vincent J. Ciecka, P.C. by maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with various accounting tasks. This part-time role is essential for ensuring compliance with established procedures and contributing to the efficiency of financial operations within the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial statements and reports.
  • Process daily check requests for client cases and invoices.
  • Process settlement checks for clients on a weekly basis.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliations on a regular and monthly basis.
  • Support account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Assist in processing payroll and pay taxes on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain organized records of all financial transactions and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team on technical accounting matters as needed.
  • Assist in governmental accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Contribute to financial report writing by compiling necessary data and insights to be reviewed by upper management to determine profit and loss of the firm.
  • Other duties assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliation processes.
  • Proficient in using QuickBooks accounting software for effective financial management.
  • Excellent analytical skills for thorough account analysis.
  • Strong written communication skills for effective financial report writing.
