About the position

The Assistant Branch Manager at ORNL Federal Credit Union plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the Loudon Branch. This position involves providing leadership and guidance to employees, ensuring compliance with policies, and contributing to the growth of the branch through excellent member service and sales opportunities. The role requires bilingual proficiency in Spanish to effectively communicate with a diverse member base.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Branch Manager with daily operations and serve as backup when needed.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to branch employees.
  • Ensure compliance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Process member financial transactions including new accounts, account maintenance, loan requests, and teller transactions.
  • Identify sales opportunities and recommend products and services to members.
  • Conduct employee development, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
  • Schedule employees and review daily time-sheets.
  • Audit and maintain proper controls on branch security and cash.
  • Assist with account research requests and deliver information to involved parties.
  • Maintain vault and cash dispense machines when necessary.
  • File daily branch and negotiable instruments reports.
  • Assist with staffing needs, including hiring and training.
  • Maintain department office supplies and communicate with vendors.
  • Participate in community events as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of customer service and sales experience.
  • One or more years of leadership and/or supervisory experience, preferably in a financial institution.
  • A high school education or GED is required; a two-year college degree or specialized course of study in a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including business writing ability.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • One or more years of financial services experience preferred.
