About the position

The Assistant Branch Manager/Personal Banker at S & T Bank plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and achieving sales goals. This position involves profiling customers to assess their financial needs, opening loan and deposit accounts, and supporting the Branch Manager in daily operations. The role requires a strong focus on sales execution, customer relationship management, and adherence to bank policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Profile customers to determine financial services needs and refer them to other Lines of Business when appropriate.
  • Open loan and deposit accounts and achieve individual goals including loan and deposit production.
  • Assist in the supervisory responsibility for the efficient operation of the branch customer service function.
  • Coach staff regarding sales expectations and achieving assigned goals.
  • Complete Bank's leader classes and Leadership courses as scheduled.
  • Execute S&T sales conversations and recommend appropriate loan and deposit products.
  • Utilize customer service software to improve efficiency in customer interviews.
  • Prepare loan applications and coordinate loan document preparation.
  • Suggest additional bank services and make referrals as needed.
  • Follow up on loans and deposit accounts opened and correct deficiencies or document exceptions.
  • Complete outbound campaign calls to generate new business as outlined in the Branch Playbook.
  • Work with customers on loan inquiries and take loan applications.
  • Contribute to Branch goals and sales and service standards as outlined by Branch Management.
  • Maintain good working relationships with bank employees in other departments.
  • Complete NLMS requirements as part of the S.A.F.E. Act certification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the branch's successful operation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized training or a two-year degree.
  • Five to ten years of general business experience.
  • One to two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of the retail training program required.
