About the position

The Assistant Branch Manager/Personal Banker is responsible for supporting the branch's operations and customer service functions. This role involves profiling customers to determine their financial needs, opening loan and deposit accounts, and achieving individual sales goals. The position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to coach staff while ensuring exceptional service and sales efforts are maintained within the branch.

Responsibilities

  • Profile customers to determine financial services needs and refer them to other Lines of Business when appropriate.
  • Open loan and deposit accounts and achieve individual goals including loan and deposit production and other sales goals.
  • Assist in the supervisory responsibility for the efficient operation of the branch customer service function.
  • Create a working environment focused on exceptional service and sales efforts.
  • Coach staff regarding FOR-LIFE expectations and achieving assigned goals.
  • Complete STELLAR classes and Leadership Basics as assigned by Employee Services and Consumer Bank Training.
  • Focus on FOR-LIFE sales conversations and recommend appropriate loan and deposit products.
  • Utilize customer service software to streamline efficiency while conducting interviews with customers.
  • Prepare loan applications using LOS software and coordinate loan document preparation.
  • Open new deposit accounts and produce necessary deposit documents.
  • Suggest additional bank services and make referrals to other departments as needed.
  • Follow up on loans and deposit accounts opened and correct deficiencies or document exceptions.
  • Complete Tableau campaign calls on new and existing customers to generate new business.
  • Work with customers on loan inquiries and take loan applications as needed.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with bank employees in other departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized training or a two-year degree.
  • Five to ten years of general business experience, with one to two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of the retail training program required.
  • S.A.F.E. Act certification and proof of registration with the registry.
