About the position

Lionsgate is seeking an Assistant in the Business and Legal Affairs department, specifically within the Motion Picture Group. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and business-minded individual aspiring to build a career in the film industry. The position involves providing comprehensive administrative support, managing various legal documents, and assisting in the deal-making process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative assistance on a high-volume desk, including answering and managing calls, scheduling meetings and conference calls, and managing calendars.
  • Maintain detailed deal status reports.
  • Manage the execution, distribution, and filing of development, production, and post-production agreements.
  • Take notes on calls, in meetings, and during negotiations.
  • Revise and redline memos.
  • Manage and coordinate with accounting for payment of talent, options, and other incoming invoices.
  • Draft correspondence, memos, and notices for internal and external communication.
  • Manage expenses, payment statements, and invoices.
  • Execute special projects and research related to rights analysis, guild minimums, and deals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an administrative support role in the entertainment business.
  • Self-starter with an interest in the deal-making side of the film industry.
  • Ability to handle and keep strictly confidential information.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat).
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand basic contract language.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working at a law firm, talent agency, or television/motion picture studio.
  • Experience reading and handling legal contracts (e.g., talent agreements).
  • General knowledge and understanding of the entertainment industry.
  • Experience with contract management, file management, and database management systems.
