About the position

The Assistant Business Manager (Accounting) plays a crucial role in managing all accounting functions within the organization. This position involves establishing and maintaining accounting procedures, overseeing fiscal methods for payment processing, and providing support in various service functions such as payroll and inventory management. The role is integral to ensuring efficient financial operations and contributing to the organization's mission of providing rehabilitation and community reintegration services.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and monitor the annual budget for the assigned facility and advise management on budget status.
  • Monitor contractual staffing plans and overtime, coordinating with the Director of Business Management to achieve monthly budget goals.
  • Prepare, research, compile, and analyze financial data for budget reports and management requests.
  • Direct the work of other employees, including hiring, evaluating performance, and training.
  • Monitor recording and control procedures for accounts collection and reconciliation.
  • Prepare and approve billing documents and submit invoices for payment.
  • Review and approve all financial and accounting records and transactions.
  • Maintain records for the operations' fixed assets.
  • Manage the accountability of office supplies and equipment.
  • Review vehicle repairs and expenses, and maintain GeoTrack billing.
  • Monitor WorkForce Management for employee labor management.
  • Perform payroll audits and verifications.
  • Reconcile fleet information and fuel reports.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance and licensing with transportation supervisors.
  • Maintain Accounts Payable through accounting systems and reconcile monthly reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in a finance-related role, or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities to gain respect from employees.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and make management decisions.
  • Proficient in using computers and necessary software.
