About the position

The Assistant Business Office Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the overall functioning of the Business Office at Highland Place Rehab and Nursing Center. This position involves assisting the Business Office Manager with various administrative and financial tasks, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and promoting a collaborative environment among staff while providing excellent service to residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Business Office Manager in payroll input and hours calculation.
  • Answer telephones and manage ancillary input.
  • Receive and process resident account deposits and payments.
  • Handle accounts payable and ensure accurate coding with ICD-9, HCPC's, CMS-1500, and UB-04 forms.
  • Support the Business Office Manager in collections of outstanding balances from various payers including AHCCCS, Medicare, and private parties.
  • Fill in as Business Office Manager as needed, with limited or full authority.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with State, Federal, and Company standards, including alerting management to potential non-compliance issues.
  • Make bank deposits as requested and manage resident billing receipts.
  • Assist with end-of-month procedures such as charge journals, cash receipts, and bank reconciliation.
  • Prepare disbursement checks for approved expenditures and maintain the facility's check register.
  • Attend in-service education programs to meet facility educational requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records/information.

Requirements

  • Experience in GA Medicaid is required.
  • Proficiency in PointClickCare is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills for tracking claim adjudication status.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail in work performance.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
  • Good communication skills with self-discipline and patience.
  • Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled individuals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ICD coding and billing processes.
  • Familiarity with Standard Precautions and Exposure Control Plans.
