About the position

The Assistant Buyer position is a full-time role focused on supporting the buying team in various aspects of the buying process, including order entry, budget management, and in-season business support. The role aims to enhance the overall buying process and is based in the Culver City office with a hybrid working schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Organize brand outreach and market schedule, generate and distribute seasonal market reports, and manage market checklist calendar.
  • Enter orders, manage order changes and cancellations, and audit confirmations for purchase orders.
  • Collect and file seasonal assets and corresponding PO imagery in OneDrive and NCR for vendor asset management.
  • Own entry of internal transfers to initiate inventory shifts for transfer management.
  • Update pricing adjustments, payment and shipping terms, and vendor discounts through vendor communication.
  • Prepare materials for key business meetings, including vendor appointments, assortment planning, and seasonal presentations.
  • Run vendor selling reports and distribute them to appropriate vendors and/or elysewalker team members.
  • Communicate with the Vendor Administrator on any necessary internal and external follow-up regarding returns authorizations.
  • Partner with Vendor Administrator to support transfer management and damaged product processes.
  • Liaise between buyers, planners, visuals, and store teams to ensure proper markdown prep and communication.

Requirements

  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Excel and Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Retail mathematics skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • NCR Counterpoint knowledge preferred.
  • Prior retail experience preferred, such as a buying internship or store-level experience.
