The incumbent will also perform physical testing on items such as pavement markers, delineators, channelizers, retroreflective sheeting, engineering fabrics, and traffic cones. In addition to testing, the Assistant Chemical Testing Engineer will assist in the laboratory and field evaluation of new product submittals, which is essential for maintaining high standards in material quality. The role also includes investigating complaints regarding defective materials, which may involve inspecting work related to the use of these materials. The incumbent is expected to handle all tasks necessary for the preparation and completion of tests and analyses, including preparing chemical reagents, cleaning and assembling laboratory apparatus, sample preparation, recording data, and preparing reports. Responsibilities

• Perform routine qualitative and quantitative tests and chemical analyses on water, soil, metals, coatings, concrete, cement, and other materials.

• Assist with laboratory and field evaluation of new product submittals.

• Prepare samples and record data for tests and analyses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of chemical testing and analysis techniques.
• Ability to work under supervision and follow established procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in testing and reporting.
• Good communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with team members.
