About the position

The Assistant CFO (ACFO) at Frye Regional Medical Center plays a crucial role in supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) by overseeing the financial operations of the hospital. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial statements and records in accordance with GAAP, while also safeguarding the hospital's assets. The ACFO will lead the Accounting/Finance Department and contribute to the financial planning and performance monitoring of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations of the Accounting/Finance Department, including financial statement preparation and maintenance of the general ledger.
• Implement and adhere to regulatory, GAAP, and other changes affecting the accounting cycle.
• Ensure compliance with company financial and accounting policies and procedures, and maintain effective internal controls.
• Meet monthly close deadlines, maintain account reconciliation and supporting documentation, and perform account analysis.
• Assist in identifying and assessing financial risks, and communicate these to the regional CFO and hospital CEO.
• Monitor financial performance and maintain appropriate financial plans and forecasts.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Preferred CPA designation or an advanced degree.
• At least 5 years of progressive financial healthcare experience or equivalent in general accounting, financial systems, and financial statement preparation.
