About the position

The Assistant CFO (ACFO) plays a crucial role in supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Frye Regional Medical Center. This position is responsible for safeguarding hospital assets and ensuring that financial statements are prepared and maintained in accordance with GAAP. The ACFO oversees the Accounting/Finance Department's operations, ensuring compliance with financial policies and effective internal controls, while also assisting in financial risk assessment and performance monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations of the Accounting/Finance Department, including financial statement preparation and maintenance of the general ledger.
• Implement and adhere to regulatory, GAAP, and other changes affecting the accounting cycle, providing timely service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure compliance with company financial and accounting policies and procedures, and monitor the effectiveness of internal controls.
• Meet monthly close deadlines, maintain account reconciliation and supporting documentation, and prepare various financial packages as requested.
• Assist in identifying and assessing financial risks, establishing and monitoring mitigation plans, and communicating financial risks and opportunities to the regional CFO and hospital CEO.
• Monitor financial performance and maintain reasonable financial plans and forecasts.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• CPA designation or an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of progressive financial healthcare or equivalent experience in general accounting, financial systems, and financial statement preparation.
